What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar mechanism that stores slightly larger values and is not sent with every request. Both can be used to remember settings, keep you signed in, measure traffic or follow you across sites for advertising. This page covers every such mechanism we use.
Essential storage (no consent needed)
staack-theme(local storage)- Remembers whether you chose the day or night theme so the page does not flash on your next visit. Stored in your browser only, never transmitted, kept until you clear site data.
staack-consent(local storage)- Remembers your answer to the cookie notice (accepted or declined) so we do not ask again. Kept for 12 months.
- Session security
- Our hosting provider may set a short-lived technical cookie to protect the site from abuse. It contains no personal data and expires when you close the browser.
Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and where visitors come from, so we can improve the site. It loads only after you choose "Accept" in the cookie notice. IP addresses are truncated before storage, advertising features and Google Signals are switched off, and the data is not used to build advertising profiles.
_ga- Distinguishes one browser from another with a random identifier. Set by Google Analytics. Lifetime 2 years.
_ga_<container-id>- Keeps the state of the current visit (session). Set by Google Analytics. Lifetime 2 years.
Google Search Console, which we use to see how the site appears in Google Search, works from Google's side and sets no cookies on this site. How Google handles the data is described in Google's partner sites notice.
What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting pixels from Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn or anyone else.
- No social media widgets that report your visit back to the network. Links to Behance, Telegram and LinkedIn are plain links.
- No fingerprinting, and no cross-site tracking.
Your choices
You can accept or decline analytics cookies in the notice on your first visit, and change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. Declining never affects how the site works.
You can also clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. Google also offers a browser add-on that blocks Google Analytics everywhere.
If this changes
If we add or remove a tool, this page is updated first, with the cookie names, lifetimes and provider, and the notice is shown again where the law requires fresh consent.
